Box Tops for Education

COLLECT BOX TOPS

Did you know that every BOXTOP and every COKE CAP collected earns money for our school?   This summer we would like you to work hard to collect both. The money we earn will go toward a basketball hoop on our K/1 playground!

BOXTOPS:  Every completed BOXTOP sheet is worth $5.00.  If every child from Georgetown (approx 570) fills  one sheet this summer, our school will earn $2,750.   Many thanks to Lori Simpson and all of you who are on her team of BOX TOP counters, trimmers and packers.  This is a great program that pays off because of all of YOU! Stop That Summer Slide!!

Keep On Learning With Reading & Mobymax

Dear Parents,

Studies have shown that students can lose up to 50% of learning during the summer vacation.   Georgetown is challenging you and your child to “KEEP ON LEARNING” this summer to prevent summer slide.  There are two ways to record your learning time:

Our goals for students over the summer are below. Students who reach or exceed goals will be entered in a drawing for an Amazon Gift Card (1 per grade). This is for their grade next year.

Reading Minutes Mobymax
  • First Grade: 100 minutes
  • Second Grade: 200 minutes
  • Third Grade: 300 minutes
  • Fourth Grade: 400 minutes
  • Fifth Grade:  400 minutes
  • First Grade: 100 pts
  • Second Grade: 200 pts
  • Third Grade: 300 pts
  • Fourth Grade: 400 pts
  • Fifth Grade:  500 pts

    • Reading:  Log into  this form  to record the number of minutes you read.  You can record each day or enter the total for each week.

If your child is new to the school and you would like login information, email Mrs. Reagan.  treagan@hpseagles.net

Have a great summer…and keep on learning with READING and MOBYMAX!

Our Super STEAM Teacher!

Mrs. Totten, our incredible STEAM STUDIO teacher, has been selected as one of the Air Zoo’s Science Innovation Hall of Fame Educator Excellence Awardees!

Mrs. Totten excels as a teacher who implements curriculum that grows passionate learners.  Students in her classroom utilize Project Lead the Way materials  — and their K-5 participation grows each student into an innovative, creative designer and problem solver.

We feel honored to work with Mrs. Totten every day — and as a staff, we are thrilled that she is being recognized!

If you would like a sneak peak into the Mrs. Totten’s classroom, check out her STEAM STUDIO BLOG.

We Are SO Close! Please Help!!

Dear Parents,
We are SO CLOSE to meeting our needed sign up to get $500 worth of PE EQUIPMENT!
We just need 26 more kids…that is one student per class.
This does not involve money — it simply involves registering and committing to taking care of your heart through exercise and diet.
Here is a link to the BLOG POST about the challenge.
Our School Page for registration can be found here.
WE CAN DO IT!  Just 26 more kids and we have $500 worth of new PE equipment for everyone to use!

A BUSY December Week!

We have a BIG week ahead!  Rehearsals for the Holiday Program will be taking place in preparation for the HOLIDAY PROGRAM on Thursday, December 13.

PARENTS MUST read through the directions for arrival for the Holiday Program — ABOVE LINK.  We want all parents to know that supervision is  provided15 minutes prior to the program starting.  Drop off for K-2 is at 6:15-6-20.   Drop off for 3-5 is 7:30-7:45.

As a bonus for feeding your family, JET’s PIZZA night is on Thursday December 13.  Remember to give your child’s class name so that they can win a pizza party!

Remember that Friday December 14 is EARLY RELEASE.  Children will be dismissed by 12:15….and teachers will spend the afternoon in MINDSET growth professional development.

Toys for Tots

Listen to Ainslee and Holiday Cheer Team’s  Toys for Tots Message:  1. “Toys for Tots”

Do you know about Toys for Tots? It’s a great charity that provides happiness and joy to kids on Christmas morning. They cannot do this without our help.

This year, we have set a school donation goal of 100 toys.

Bring a new, unwrapped toy to school before December 13.  Toys for Tots will distribute these toys to kids in need throughout our community.

PLEASE SUPPORT THE KIDS IN OUR COMMUNITY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!
