A BIG Thank You goes to our Georgetown PTC and YOU for supporting our school!
COLLECT BOX TOPS
Did you know that every BOXTOP and every COKE CAP collected earns money for our school? This summer we would like you to work hard to collect both. The money we earn will go toward a basketball hoop on our K/1 playground!
BOXTOPS: Every completed BOXTOP sheet is worth $5.00. If every child from Georgetown (approx 570) fills one sheet this summer, our school will earn $2,750. Many thanks to Lori Simpson and all of you who are on her team of BOX TOP counters, trimmers and packers. This is a great program that pays off because of all of YOU! Download your form here: Summer Box Tops
On Friday, we will participate in our Walk-A-Thon school fundraiser! Your child is invited to dress up as a Super Hero to show their support. Please check out this link to get all the details
Super Hero Walkathon
This is our last chance to get first dibs on the Gaga Pit!
Remember, the class donating the most money gets to use the Gaga Pit first 🙂
Thank you to those who have already donated to another constructive game for kids to play during recess! I’ve never played Gaga Ball, but my son and many of the students in our classroom say it’s a blast!! I know that other elementary schools in the district have Gaga Pits and from what I understand, there are always many kids waiting in line to play!!
Don’t forget, that as members of the community who live close to school, you’ll also be able to play after school hours!!
Thanks for your help 🙂
A youtube video showing the game of gaga is here.
We would like to ask for your support with a Physical Education WISH. Our playground has space to accommodate a GAGA BALL PIT—and we’d love to have a pit added to our green space.
The game of GAGA is high paced, high energy and high fun. It combines the skills of dodging, running, jumping and eye/hand/body coordination. The addition of a GAGA PIT on our playground would benefit:
PE: Support our instructional skills.
Recess: Provide another activity for children on the 2-5 playground.
Community: Available for after hours use for family, friends and community members.
Our PTC has donated partial funding from the Fall WALK•A•THON earnings. We believe we can cover the total cost through a special three week fundraiser.
GOAL: Donate $1.00 per child.
INCENTIVE: Class that raises the most $$ will be first to use the GAGA PIT once it is assembled.
FUNDRAISER DATES: January 12-23. A weekly update on the winners will be posted.
Send your GAGA DOLLARS to school so we can have a Georgetown Gaga Pit!
Greetings parents and students and welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! We have officially kicked-off our 2014 ROCK THE WALK, which is our primary fundraiser for the year. The 4th Annual HEF Fun Fest Fundraiser is coming Friday, October 11th from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Eagles Stadium. The activities will take place on homecoming before the home varsity football game against Grand Haven and include dunking HPS staff members in one of our dunk tanks, showing off your football throwing skills, bouncing around in the bounce house, getting your face painted, 50/50 raffle and much more.
Once again, there will be a raffle for a 50” TV and gaming system to be given away at half time of the last home game on October 25. Buy your raffle tickets at any home game for your chance to win this great prize. This event is sponsored by the Hudsonville Education Foundation and all proceeds will be used to fund grants for resources and innovations that directly enhance the education of our students in Hudsonville Public Schools.
AND…the GEORGETOWN DUNK TANK time period is at 4:30 pm. We will have Mr. Kooiker and Mrs. Stadt in the tank for 15 minutes. (4:30 to 4:45pm). Please come and support the HEF and take a turn at dunking two of our wonderful teachers.
